Greg Ducie, Director Infrastructure Projects, received two awards at the Academic Awards Dinner held on 19 June 2014:

The NMMU Council Award for the best Master’s Degree by Dissertation: Social Sciences and Humanties; and

 

The VC Award for the Best Among the Winners

 

Greg comes from Johannesburg and he is currently employed at the NMMU as the Director Infrastructure projects.

 

Greg Ducie completed his Master in Commerce Business Management in October 2013. The degree was awarded to him cum laude at the Graduation Ceremony held in April 2014. 

 

The title of his master’s dissertation, supervised by Prof Miemie Struwig is:  Financial Viability of Sustainable Infrastructural Development at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University

 

The aim of Mr Ducie’s study was to determine how to collectively calculate the financial benefits of sustainability interventions in a manner that will provide a more holistic yet detailed perspective on sustainability.  The research focused on the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University as a case study. Greg has already got 2 publications from his dissertation. Greg Ducie received a final mark of 89% for his dissertation.

Greg is currently enrolled for his PHD studies at the NMMU where he will look at the alternative financing models for sustainable cities.
