The world-famous book, "Principles of Marketing", by Philip Kotler (seen as the "Father of Marketing") and Gary Armstrong was launched on 31 August 2015 in South Africa. Professor Madéle Tait, who is the South African editor of the book, launched the book at the 27th Southern African Institute of Management Scientists Conference (SAIMS) held at UCT.

Prof Tait addressed an audience of 216 conference delegates. A video clip of Professor Armstrong was aired in which he congratulated the team of South African authors on the great success of their adaptation of the book. "Principles of Marketing" branded cupcakes were offered with coffee and tea by Pearson, who is the publisher of this book.

The Vice-President: Sales and Dealer Network Toyota South Africa Motors, Dr Casper Kruger, delivered a keynote address at the conference.
