The Regional Innovation Forum and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber and the South African Association for Energy Efficiency hosted an event at which the value academia can offer industry to accelerate innovation in the region was presented.
Services on offer by selected disciplines within the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was presented to representatives of business and government, for the purpose of identifying areas in which academia can accelerate innovative aspirations.
Presentations were made by recognised researchers and practitioners in the fields of nanotechnology, chemical technology, engineering, renewable energy and bio-composites.
Students from the Business Management Department attended the event and learned a lot about the great work the NMMU and other faculties do concerning innovation.
