The partnership between the two was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the university this week.
“The Memorandum of Understanding endeavours to continue the development of the working relationship between us and Münster University of Applied Sciences. The relationship involves the exchange of ideas and knowledge in order to improve the marketability of students in the department,” says NMMU management lecturer Paul Tai-Hing.
The memorandum also confirms that the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at NMMU in collaboration with the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre (S2BMRC) and the Finnish Entrepreneurship and InnovationNetwork for Higher Education, FINPIN, will host a joint conference on “Entrepreneurial Universities” in Munster, Germany, from 25 to 27 April 2012.
The conference will provide delegates with an excellent opportunity to share and exchange the latest knowledge on “Entrepreneurial Universities” with a specific focus on development and entrepreneurship to be hosted by NMMU.
“Like all effective collaborations, the relationship between the two universities is based upon trust and mutual benefit. This agreement will take this relationship one step further. We are looking forward to further increasing opportunities for both academics and students,” said Todd Davey from the S2BMRC.
The conference will include key note addresses by policymakers and renowned experts in the field of entrepreneurial universities and the conference sub-topics, parallel track and several workshops. The conference will be a European meeting and discussion forum for practitioners and researchers on entrepreneurship and education, where theory and practice are equally emphasised in the programme.
