On Tuesday, 3 June 2014, the Departments of Marketing Management and Business Management were proud to host Professor Naresh Maholtra. He spoke about: “Operating in an era of globalisation: A marketing perspective”.

Prof Malhotra is a Senior Fellow, Georgia Tech CIBER and Regents' Professor Emeritus, Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology, a leading US business school.  He sits on several scholarly and journal review boards, including the Sheth Foundation.  He visited the School as Chair of the Emerging Markets Conference Board last year and accepted appointment as a Senior Research Associate in the Business School this year.

Prof Malhotra is widely acknowledged as the most influential marketing research scholar of all time and he is author of the leading text in the field.  His prolific career contributions are celebrated in a 9 volume, 3111 page Legends in Marketing book.  By year end, he will have published five articles in top marketing and management journals.

His address at NMMU was well received, and staff members, postgraduate students as well as role players from industry attended. Several business owners commented on the impact his speech had on their “way of thinking” about marketing their businesses throughout Africa and abroad.
