Prof Elmarie Venter of the School of Management Sciences was invited by die Nyenrode Business School in the Netherlands to teach various topics to Indian students from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research during a Family Business Course during the week of 1 - 5 June 2015.

This course forms part of a six month international MBA exchange programme Nyenrode has with India. All the students that attended Prof Venter's course are from family businesses in India.

Prof Venter lectured on topics such as family business succession, governance, the management of sibling partnership, ensuring transgenerational success, as well as creating wealth and estate planning.

During her visit to Nyenrode, the group visited two large family businesses in the Netherlands. Keune is a third generation family business, manufacturing and exporting hair products to 60 different countries, including the USA. The second business, Walraven, is a fourth generation family business that specialises in manufacturing and exporting components used in business installation systems to several countries in Europe and abroad.
