Prof Chantal Rootman and Dr Janine Kruger visited Osnabruck, Germany from 3 - 8 May 2015.

The Department of Business Management colleagues were invited to lecture during the International Lecturing block week at Hochschule Osnabruck (University of Applied Sciences). Chantal's topic for the week was "Marketing Communications Management and Business Cases on Stakeholder Management".

Janine's topic was "An African perspective on cross cultural management". They lectured student groups of 16 and 11 students respectively, and the two groups were representative of 7 nationalities.

Prof Rootman and Dr Kruger enjoyed the interaction, participation and group work from the students. The students had several discussions, debates and also prepared presentations as part of the block week, and delivered the presentations on the last day.

Feedback from the students were positive, and they enjoyed the practical nature of the lectures as well as the South African examples shared by Prof Rootman and Dr Kruger. While attending, Chantal and Janine also networked with guest lecturers from 6 other countries, and brainstormed about tertiary education challenges and opportunities.
