Members of Mandela University’s Family Business Unit (FBU) and Department of Business Management, Prof Shelley Farrington, Prof Elmarie Venter and Dr Welcome Kupangwa (Postdoctoral Fellow), met with Mr Raymond Mutura at Nelson Mandela University from the 12th to the 23rd of June.

Mr Mutura is a senior researcher and director of the Centre for Research on Organisation, Work and Family (CROWF) at Strathmore University Business School in Kenya. The CROWF aims to conduct research on the interaction among work, family, and business, as well as demonstrate the contribution and significance of family businesses to the Kenyan economy. Possible collaborations concerning joint research projects, hosting of academic colloquia, and training of family businesses and practitioners, were discussed in an effort to broaden the footprint of the FBU across other African countries. Mr Mutura is also enrolled for a PhD (Business Management) in the Department of Business Management where he is pursuing research on digital innovation among family businesses under the supervision of Prof Venter and Prof Farrington.
